Hear Her Tank

Meet Raya. When Raya was a toddler, she and her family fled the violence that erupted in Darfur, Sudan, and they ended up in refugee camp Kounoungou along the Chad-Sudan border. Raya has spent half her life in this refugee camp. Her story is not unusual. Raya represents an entire generation of young girls who have grown up in refugee camps all over the world and who have lost their childhood, the space to play, their dignity, and their voice.
